Welcome to Brentwood

A quiet, beautiful neighborhood with a love for the arts

Brentwood, which began as an agricultural community, has desirable weather, a great view of Mount Diablo, and access to gorgeous beaches and lively cities. The neighborhood was the site of several Olympic games in 1932 and was home to several celebrities, such as Joan Crawford and Marilyn Monroe. The beautiful homes in Brentwood showcase a variety of architectural styles. One notable example is the Sturges Residence, built by Frank Loyd Wright in 1939, which was selected as Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 1993.

One of Los Angeles’ finest neighborhoods, Brentwood boasts upscale restaurants, designer stores, and numerous parks, as well as hiking and biking trails. The Getty Center has a renowned art collection amidst incredibly gorgeous grounds. Brentwood truly has something for everyone.

Once one of Hollywood’s best-kept secrets, the tree-lined streets lead to beautiful estates, which offer privacy and seclusion. Both quiet and upscale, Brentwood is a community-oriented place to build a home, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Brentwood is home to fine Italian cuisine. Starting with the fun & hip Jon & Vinny’s which came from its West Hollywood Fairfax location, this popular Italian spot takes a spin on fun and tasty. Popular for lunch and dinner. Divino specializes in authentic Italian food with a constantly evolving menu due to the frequent addition of guest chefs from Italy. This simple and elegant restaurant can be found off Sunset in Barrington Court. Offering something unique for everyone, Amici Brentwood strives to be delicious and authentic to its Italian roots. Using traditional recipes, all pasta is made in-house and fresh every day. They also have a large Italian wine selection.

If something other than Italian is desired, Baltaire provides a luxurious change of pace as a contemporary steakhouse with classic roots. The restaurant serves exceptional steaks, great seafood, and well-made drinks and cocktails. Complete with a mid-century modern design, the indoor dining room spreads to the lavish outdoor terrace where guests enjoy a dinner under the stars or a lunch bathed in sunshine.

Things to Do

Designed by architect Rowland Crawford, Brentwood Country Mart brings to mind an early American and English country marketplace. Standing as the center of the community, the Brentwood Country Mart has a variety of shops, including the post office, barbershop, and toy store. It is also the location of various community events. It has been a Los Angeles institution since 1948 and is becoming a true piece of Los Angeles history.

The Getty Center is a cultural and philanthropic institution with a mission to present, conserve, and interpret the world’s artistic legacy. The Getty Center serves the public and a variety of professional communities. Its programs include the Getty Research Institute, the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Getty Conservation Institute, and the Getty Foundation. Through an understanding of the visual arts, it promotes a civil society.

San Vicente Boulevard is a beautiful East-West thoroughfare. With shops, cafes, and restaurants lining both sides, it is an ideal location for walkers, dog walkers, and runners alike.

The only house Marilyn Monroe chose and bought herself is in Brentwood. Purchased six months before her death, Monroe’s home is a one-story, hacienda-style, L-shaped Spanish Colonial revival. When she bought it, it had two bedrooms, adobe walls, and a red-tile roof. Today, it is a four-bedroom, three-bathroom home with a swimming pool and expansive yard, hidden behind the tall gates at the end of a quiet cul de sac.
